Matrei in Ost Tirol
Matrei actually lies between the 2 largest mountains in Austria - the Grossglockner and the Grossvenediger. There are over 600 miles of hiking trails to explore as well as activities such as rafting, canyoning, kayaking and high ropes courses from the base in Ainet.
The Ost Tirol card gives you access to 7 lifts, 5 swimming pools and more than 10 other attractions. The card can be used once a day for up to 8 days . The nearby village of Virgen has a sports centre with open air pool, slide, tennis courts and beach volleyball - great for a family day off.
