Saalfelden

The largest city in the Pinzgau region with on one hand lush green fields, mountains and vistas and on the other hand, rich in local traditions, museums and Jazz. A very special geographic location and its abundance of cultural experiences is what Saalfelden Leogang is all about.

Surrounded by the Steinernen Meer and the Pinzgau foothills, the Saalach region is nature at its best. Nature lovers will find untouched spaces to explore either on foot or bike in the summer, or on skis or snowshoes in the winter.

Saalfelden is also the cultural centre of the Pinzgau area. Traditional for Bauernherst (Thanksgiving time), Heimatmeseum as well as the Bergbaumuseum, at the same time modern and contemporary with its international Jazzfestival or the Tonspuren festival atop the Asitz.
