Our focus on activities this week is hydrospeeding - an activity that can be done in many of our summer activity resorts and started back in the 1970's and has grown to become a very popular and fun activity on the water........
Hydrospeeding
Hydrospeeding is an activity enjoyed on the whitewaterrapids with you and a board or float. The rapids are graded from I to V with the river being more rapid and challenging as the number gets higher.
First seen in the 1970's when boards that were being used in teaching water rescue classes were adapted by the guides for some fun - and, all of a sudden, riverboarding and subsequently hydrospeeding came to life.
Sometimes known as white water swimming you get kitted out with an extra thick wet suit, helmet, buoyancy aid and flipper and then swim down the river and rapids holding a float in front of you.
This is a great adventure on the water; similar activities include white water rafting & riverbugging....
These can be combined on a single holiday or you can focus on one of them and just have several sessions on your holiday.
