Winter Sledging
This blog is not written by our Daddy, Stuart, but by us - Louis and Ellen McLeod - we just had a bit of help putting it onto the internet.
Last week we went to Slovenia on a ski holiday with Zenith Holidays. One of our favourite things (as well as skiing and swimming) was going sledging. We were taken up to Mangart in an off road Landrover by Grega from Soca Rafting (who was also my (Louis') ski instructor). The sldege run is 2km long and is in a forest on a high mountain.
There were 2 types of sledges - pink, purple and red ones made from wood and plastic for 2 people, and also single blue sledges. We were sledging with Daddy and Katie and were on the bigger sledges (as we are not 10 years old yet). They were comfy and went very fast.
Grega told us how to go round corners and how to slow down and then we set off. We had to go last as we were the youngest, but we soon overtook some of the others! Our best bits were:
Louis - jumping off a bank on our last run down and pulling Daddy on the sledge when we slowed down (the sledge kept tripping me up as I ran along).
Ellen - the funniest bit was falling off when Katie drove us into a corner and she fell on top of me!
We had lots of fun and wanted to go again and again (I think we were only supposed to get 3 goes, but they were really kind and we had 4 runs down) We want to go again next time we go on a ski holiday.
