White water activities

The rivers in and around Chamonix are ideal for beginners and children,whilst for those looking for more adventure, a short drive away in Italy, you can take part in some high-adrenaline rapid-fuelled excitement on the Dora Baltee river!

 

Local instructors offer expert coaching so you can learn the ropes in a safe and fun environment.

 

Rafting - there are 3 descents available

 

L'Arve in the Sallanches Valley. Ideal for families and beginners. Grade 2 river. Takes 2.5 hours (with 1 hour 15 on the river) Minimum age 6 yrs. Price £30

 

Le Giffre in the Samoens valley. More challenging than the Arve and magnificent scenery. Grade 3 river. 1 hour 30 on the river. Minimum age 10 yrs. Price £44  

 

La Dora Baltea in Italy. The ultimate rafting experience down one of the most famous and beautiful rafting routes in the Alps. River class 4. Minimum age 15 yrs. Price £99 (includes transfer)

 

For all rafting trips you need to be able to swim. Don't forget your swim suit and a towel. You will be provided with a wet suit, socks, helmet and a life jacket.

 

Hydrospeeding Surf the wave and play the currents! This is basically making your way down river head first with a padded wetsuit, fins and a float – not for the faint-hearted!.

Wetsuits, hydrospeed float, helmet, life jacket etc; provided.

 

Canoe raft - also known as hot dogs these are inflatable boats for 2 people.
