Details of the Cycling Tour

st Day: Dijon: Individual arrival. Time to visit the local church and the imposing palace.

nd Day: Dijon - Nuits Saint Georges (approx. 26 km/16 miles): Your day starts with a ride along the wine roads till Nuits Saint Georges. You pass through several wine villages like Vougeot, where you should have a look to the old Château, or Gevrey-Chambertin.

rd Day: Nuits Saint Georges - Beaune (approx. 20 km/13 miles): You leave Nuits Saint Georges in dirrection Beaune, known as the wine-capital of the Burgundy. After arrival you still have plenty of time to visit the old city centre, the wine cellars and the famouts "Hospices de Beaune" - a former hospital which is nowadays partly used as a museum.

th Day: Beaune - Region Chagny (approx. 23 km/14 miles): You cycle through the "Côte de Beaune" and its villages like Pommard, Meursault and Puligny-Montrachet. Here is the growing area of the Montrachet-vine, known as one of the best wines in the world.

th Dat: Region Chagny - Givry (approx. 25 km/16 miles): At first you cycle along the bike path which follows the channel "Canal du Centre" up to Saint Léger sur Dheune,  right in the centre of the wine region  "Côte Chalonnaise". Here you have the opportunity to visit the medieval castle of Germolles.

th Day: Givry - Cluny (approx. 43 km/27 miles): Todays leg is indeed the longest one but otherwise also the easiest as you cycle the whole time on bike paths.  Through wooden landscape and medieval towns like Saint-Gengoux and Cormatin - with its picturesque castle - you reach you todays target, the city of Cluny - once the intellectual centre of Europe.

th Day: Cluny - Mâcon (approx. 23 km/14 miles): Through picturesque villages you reach - as your final destination - the city of Mâcon which was the medieval capital of the earls of the Burgundy. Enjoy a final walk through the city centre.
