Ski Holidays in Chamonix
Chamonix, rightly, has a reputation as the freeride capital of the world, with skiers coming from all over the world to take on the famous off-piste, such as the ‘Vallee Blanche’.
You don’t have to be a pro though to take advantage, with a large number of intermediate pistes to discover, together with a small number of beginner slopes. The town itself offers an excellent selection of shops, restaurants and boutiques and has excellent nightlife with numerous pubs and nightclubs.
There are 2 lift pass options, a Chamonix local pass and a Mont Blanc Unlimited and with 90% of the ski areas above 2000m you can be sure of good snow coverage even during early/late season weeks. The local lift pass covers the main ski areas in the valley, whilst the area pass includes access to the spectacular Aiguille du Midi lift, together with the mountain trains and the top station of the Grands Montets ski area (well worth a look!). The area pass also offers a free days skiing in the Italian ski resort of Courmayeur, a 30 minute free bus ride from Chamonix. Lift pass prices
The Aiguille du Midi lift – the world’s highest vertical ascent cable car – is well worth a visit. Not only are the views from the summit (3,842m) spectacular, you’ll also get a great view of the famous Mont Blanc peak.
Self catered chalets
Chamonix offers a wide range of ski chalets that can be reserved on a self-catered basis - these can be seen at the accommodation tab or, look at Self catered chalets for a full list of our self catered chalets.
The chalet prices are offered inclusive of rental, linen, local tax and end of stay cleaning as well as with a Eurotunnel crossing included as standard - if you would rather fly to Geneva, we can arrange your transfers.
The town has a large number of supermarkets, café’s and banks, with internet access available from the local tourist office. The sports centre has an excellent swimming pool, ice rink, climbing wall, squash courts and fitness room, and there are a huge number of other activities to explore such as paragliding, snowshoe walking, panoramic flights, dog sleds, trips in a barouche cart and icefall climbing.

The new Melezes Chairlift in Les Houches will replace the “La Cha” and the “Chamois” drag lifts.
