Morzine is a fabulous destination for a summer holiday in the mountains, Morzine has everything you could wish for. The outdoor pool complex has 2 pools (one is Olympic size) and a paddling pool as well as an 80m long slide. Some of these facilities will be limited in Summer 2011 as they are building a new Aquatics centre. The pool will be open from 19th June until 22nd August, but the slide,playground and lawns will be closed. The new centre is due to open in Decembre 2011 and will include an olympic sized pool, training pool,childrens pool, spa area and a new restaurant bar.
There is summer sledging, 9 tennis courts, an ice rink, a skateboard park, horseriding, a 9 hole golf course, paintball, paragliding, 2 adventure parks and donkey trekking as well as hiking and biking trails throughout the mountains. There are 24 lifts in the Portes du Soleil which are open for bikers and hikers during the summer. Watersports are available on the River Dranse where you can go rafting and hydrospeeding and there is a via ferrata in nearby Avoriaz.
Many of the accommodations participate in the Multipass which gives unlimited access to many of the activities - this is detailed under each separate accommodation, but can always be purchased separately if you are staying somewhere which does not feature this.
Just outside Morzine is the village of Montriod where you will find a mountain lake you can swim in - perfect for relaxing after all the activities! For more information on all of these activites see our Doing More section
