Seignosse is a resort that has 2 centres - the town centre and then of course the beach which is 4-5km away. Seignosse Plage (the beach area) features apartments, bars and restaurants whereas the village of Seignosse is much more traditional and typical of an old Landes coastal village.

Just outside the town is a sports centre and alongside all the main roads there are dedicated cycle paths. Aside from cycling surfing is the other main activity here, but there's also an 18 hole golf course,a riding school and tennis courts.

Background on Seignosse

The fine white sand dunes along the coast were man made in the mid 19th century to protect the countryside from the stormy atlantic ocean. In the distance you can see the Pyrenees and 3km further south are the towns of Hossegor and Cap Breton where there are more beaches, bars and restaurants.
