Chalet Chez Bear

This is a luxurious chalet situated in Briancon with 5 ensuite bedrooms and sleeping 10 -  12 people. It features a large lounge with open fire, bar with authentic pizza oven, home cinema room and a sauna. 

Although it is a catered chalet it is operated more like a chartered yacht -you book and pay for the chalet and then the food, drink and any other extras are charged to you at COST PRICE. This means that you can choose your own menus. Matthew is an experienced chef whose international career has included catering for the rich and famous in private households, on yachts and private jets.  Simply discuss your personal cuisine requirements with Helen and Matthew and choose your own menus so that your tastes are always catered for. Choose from home made pizzas cooked in the authentic pizza oven to haute-cuisine and of course not forgetting the local alpine specialities. Over Christmas and New Year the price was working out at an average of 12€ per person per day - this is for breakfast, evening meal, drinks and some lunches. Alternatively we can arrange a set menu for you at a fixed price.

There's a king size double, single bed 'lit bateau', queen size alpine bed, and mezzanines for the possibility of sleeping one extra. All rooms have those added extras that make holiday packing a little easier such as hair products, bath/shower gel, body moisturisers, hair dryers and dressing gowns. In each bedroom there are also many books of every type to suit all holiday readers.

The chalet is spread across 5 floors. On the top floor there are 2 double bedrooms and 2 twin bedrooms (these 2 twin rooms each have a mezzanine which can take a 3rd bed). All rooms have ensuite facilities. The ground floor has a lounge are with a log fire, a bar area with a pizza oven and a dining area which can seat up to 12 people. The floor below s where the owners live and also where the 5th bedroom is (ensuite double room) and the cellar has been converted into a magnificent home cinema area with satellite TV (with another log fire). This is also where the sauna is (with twin showers).

The chalet is bookable as a whole chalet for 7 nights although on some dates the owners are happy to take smaller groups. Please contact us if you would like prices for shorter stays or smaller groups.

The owners have a minibus which will shuttle you to and from the slopes each day so all you have to do is choose which lift you would like to depart from. And finally - Helen is qualified in the art of Indian head massage  which can be a wonderful treat after a day on the slopes.
