Activity Holidays in Cortina
The scenery is spectacular and the mountains are like nowhere else. At sunset the rock becomes pale pink and in the moonlight it looks magical. It was declared a World heritage site by UNESCO on 26 June 2009. In the summer there's a multitude of activities to choose from - there are mountain bike trails and footpaths - the old trainline has been transformed into a 32km long bikepath which goes from Calalzo to Dobbacio and is a fantastic family outing.
For the more adventurous biker there is the Great War route and the Tour of the 5 Refuges crossing the National Park. There are 700km of signed bike routes and you can purchase a bike pass during the summer similar to a winter ski pass giving you access to the lifts. There's also a bike shuttle and a Bike & Bus service.

Road biking is also very popular in the area and the Giro d'Italia is passing through this year on May 22nd. Cyclists usually want to ride the 6 Tours of the passes which involve a different route each day for 6 days starting and finishing in Cortina.
