Skiing in Les Deux Alpes
Known amongst the locals as the Ile du Soleil, it's obvious what attracts skiers and boarders to the resorts of the Southern Alps. An excellent snow record and many sunny days make for a very pleasant mountain experience (the French weather bureau has recorded an average of 300 days of sunshine per year in Alpe D'Huez).
Skiing & Boarding in Les Deux Alpes
The slopes of les Deux Alpes are snowsure as they rise towards the highest skiable glacier in Europe at 3570m
Much of the area is above the tree-line although there are also plenty of opportunities for off-piste as it is a large ski area. It is popular with freestylers as the resort has several terrian parks.
